Raleigh-Durham, NC Intro to Buddhism Classes

Are you interested in learning more about Buddhism?  Do you live in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area?

Daybreak Oneness offers Introduction to Buddhism classes for those with no experience in Buddhist practice who are looking for a starting point.  These classes are the original foundation as to why Daybreak was started - because in our western culture it can be difficult for those that are interested in learning about Buddhism to know where to begin.

Our classes are taught in a casual and interactive style with no grading or formal assignments.  We introduce the Dharma (Buddhist teachings) from a non-sectarian / all-sectarian approach.  There is no requirement to "become a Buddhist".  In fact, many individuals from other spiritual traditions find value and compatibility in the Buddha's teachings.  All are welcome . . . "come as you are."

Our classes vary a bit from class to class but generally cover the following topics:

  • Overview of the life of the historical Buddha

  • Different Buddhist Traditions

  • Common Misconceptions about Buddhism

  • The Four Noble Truths

  • The Eightfold Path

  • Interconnection / Not-Self / Oneness

All classes are always free, we just ask that you only register if you truly intend to attend the classes since we do have a limited amount of space.

Our next class will be held on Monday September 28th, 2026 from 6PM - 8:30PM at the Cary Regional Library (2nd floor Adult Program Room)  315 Kildaire Farm Rd, Cary, NC.  Please click below to register or ask any questions!

This course was everything I was looking for in an Intro to Buddhism class. It's a great blend of instruction and discussion, with additional opportunities for learning more. Having taken this course, I now I have a deeper understanding and appreciation of Buddhism and how to incorporate the principles into my everyday life.
