Intro to Buddhism Classes
Are you interested in learning more about Buddhism?
Daybreak Oneness offers Introduction to Buddhism classes for those with no experience in Buddhist practice who are looking for a starting point. These classes are the original foundation as to why Daybreak was started - because in our western culture it can be difficult for those that are interested in learning about Buddhism to know where to begin.
Our classes are taught in a casual and interactive style with no grading or formal assignments. All classes are currently held online (on Zoom) so anyone can attend regardless of location. Closed captioning is available for the hearing impaired. We introduce the Dharma (Buddhist teachings) from a non-sectarian / all-sectarian approach. There is no requirement to "become a Buddhist". In fact, many individuals from other spiritual traditions find value and compatibility in the Buddha's teachings. All are welcome . . . "come as you are."
Our classes are generally either 3-6 week classes (meeting once per week for 60-90 min) or 1 day classes (meeting once for 3-4 hours):
General Class Topics Covered in Most Classes:
-
Life of the historical Buddha
-
Common Misconceptions about Buddhism
-
The Four Noble Truths / The Eightfold Path
-
A deep dive into Wise Understanding / View
-
Misc topics & an overview of different Buddhist Traditions
-
Everyday practice / Next Steps in practice
All classes are always free, we just ask that you only register if you truly intend to attend the classes since we do limit the registrations at a certain number.
