Intro to Buddhism Classes

Are you having trouble with the difficulties of life and not sure what to do?  Or are you simply interested in learning more about Buddhism?

Daybreak Oneness offers Introduction to Buddhism classes for those with no experience in Buddhist practice who are looking for a starting point.  These classes are the original foundation as to why Daybreak was started - because in our western culture it can be difficult for those that are interested in learning about Buddhism to know where to begin.

Our classes are taught in a casual and interactive style with no grading or formal assignments.  All classes are currently held online (on Zoom) so anyone can attend regardless of location.  Closed captioning is available for the hearing impaired.  We introduce the Dharma (Buddhist teachings) from a non-sectarian / all-sectarian approach.  There is no requirement to "become a Buddhist".  In fact, many individuals from other spiritual traditions find value and compatibility in the Buddha's teachings.  All are welcome . . . "come as you are."

Our classes are generally either 3-6 week classes (meeting once per week for 60-90 min) or 1 day classes (meeting once for 3-4 hours):

General Class Topics Covered in Most Classes:

  • Life of the historical Buddha

  • Common Misconceptions about Buddhism

  • The Four Noble Truths / The Eightfold Path

  • A deep dive into Wise Understanding / View

  • Misc topics & an overview of different Buddhist Traditions

  • Everyday practice / Next Steps in practice

All classes are always free, we just ask that you only register if you truly intend to attend the classes since we do limit the registrations at a certain number.

**Update 08/26/25: Our next class will be held in November 2025.  The class will meet on Sunday evenings at 8PM ET / 7PM CT / 6PM MT / 5PM PT.  This will be a 5 week class that will begin on 11/2/25 and end on 11/30/25.  Please click below to register for the class or to ask a question.**

This course was everything I was looking for in an Intro to Buddhism class. It's a great blend of instruction and discussion, with additional opportunities for learning more. Having taken this course, I now I have a deeper understanding and appreciation of Buddhism and how to incorporate the principles into my everyday life.
